How To Get A Crypto Job In 2021

How To Get A Crypto Job In 2021

Is it still possible in 2021 to start a career in crypto or in blockchain? Well, many people are asking themselves that question and maybe asking themselves. Are there still opportunities out there for me, or am i too late, and if you ask me the answer is yes, it is possible, it's absolutely possible. Not only is it possible, it is a choice that, if you're interested in crypto that you should really think about, because i've never made a better decision than to go full-time crypto and it's the best thing i've ever done and i've seen so many people do it. Where they've left a boring career, unfulfilling career to start to work with an area or a you know this technology that they're so passionate about. So in this video i'm going to outline a guide for how you can start a career in blockchain and in crypto in 2021, we're going to talk about uh, the actual opportunity, how big it is, what you should think about before you start this journey and the Different career choices that you can make because this channel is mainly about programming, but the blockchain and crypto industry is about so much more. You don't have to be a developer to get a job in crypto, so we're going to share i'm going to share some other roles that are in high demand in crypto, and if you have those skills, then you should really um. They should really listen. When we come to that section, but of course this channel is about development, so we're also going to talk about how you can start a career as a crypto developer or a blockchain developer, and here i have a lot of experiences. As some of you know, i teach a few courses over at the iblontech academy and there i've seen so many people go from knowing very little about development, almost nothing to landing jobs as blockchain as crypto developers in three to six months, and that's just incredible to See - and i will share you know later in this video as well uh some links or you can see them down below, where you can see these stories in action and how maybe you can get some inspiration from all of these people that have taken our courses And actually progressed uh into a full-time career, but this video is not about pitching our courses uh, so we're gon na go into uh the actual slides here. So the first thing i wan na talk about is the actual opportunity here. Is there still opportunity here? How do we know that? Well, it's not that hard to figure out that there's still opportunity out there. First of all, bitcoin and the crypto industry still has so much growth. I mean not only if you look at bitcoin as a currency, how much less we have to capture using it as a payment method, but all the other things in the financial markets that are still so incredibly slow. The outdated banking system, the outdated system for trading stocks for settlement for loans, for all of these things that still are incredibly slow, still are incredibly unreliable. That blockchain technology cryptocurrencies can help revolutionize change into something better, so we're still very early, and we can see that in the job market as well. I know there was a study that we spent a lot of time reading last year from linkedin that researched the hard skills that were most in demand when it came to linkedin, recruiters and blockchain was the number one hard skill that was in most demand in the Linkedin platform last year in 2020, it was over ai. It was over cloud computing. It was over all of these other hyped up tech skills and that sort of shows you how in demand you could be as a blockchain, developer and or any other blockchain profession. For that matter, which we're going to get into here pretty soon and this hasn't slowed down. Of course i mean if this was a hot skill in 2020. I imagine how we'll be in 2021. It'S going to be absolutely crazy, especially with all of this traction. Now that we see not only as bitcoin at the time recording of recording this video at 60, 000

The interest from institutions are is huge and we have coinbase just a few days ago, uh listing as the first crypto exchange on the u.s stock exchange. So that's that's incredible. So there's still plenty of opportunity out there now. The question is: how can you capture that? What kind of skills do you need? Well, that depends on what career choices you want to make, and i usually talk about that. You can use almost any skill that you otherwise use in the job market in the crypto industry, because there's no difference when it comes to hr in a crypto company. You still need. You still need people. So someone needs to recruit the people. You still need marketing. You still need sales, you still need designers, you still need whatever it is, so you know i compiled a short list here of different professions that are big in crypto and in blockchain, because every company needs people like this right. They need someone to do the lawyer stuff. They need someone to do. Customer support social media management marketing sales all of this stuff. So if you have a traditional sales job or if you have a traditional hr job, all you need is to touch. You know to get a little bit of crypto blockchain knowledge, and then you can use those skills, together with your already existing skill, set to get a much more exciting job in an industry that you love. So that's what i would recommend if you have any any kind of previous skill. That is a skill that is valued in the open market. Then use that in the crypto market. Because it's enough to learn a bit about crypto, to build a network in crypto and then use those skills here. So that's what i would recommend for many of you learn crypto, learn, blockchain and use those skills, and this, of course, is more easily said than done, because what you need in order to land the job in any new industry is, of course connections. And how do you get connections in crypto? Well, a lot of it is just remote and digital, so you need to be in the communities where people are looking to hire. We hire a lot from our own community from our own forums, from our own discord and so on so depending on which project you're interested in working in you need to get close to those people. You need to get close to the people working in the industry. In the niche in the project that you are interested in, so you need to get close to them, so you need to make connections and you need to be curious. You need to help them. You need to assist them in in the start, maybe for free and show that you're valuable and build your name in the crypto space, maybe through a youtube channel, maybe through a blog, maybe through a twitter whatever that is but show the project show the companies in The space that you're valuable, that you know what you're talking about and that might take some time. But you need to start building up that network and then you can use this to land a job in crypto. And finally, since this is a tech channel, we're going to talk some tech, we're going to talk about how to start a tech career, and with that specifically, i mean how to start a career as a developer in crypto. What do you need? What type of tools do you need to learn, and the answer is that building crypto, apps, dapps or blockchain apps is not rocket science. I mean it might seem like rocket science for if you've never coded before it might seem like rocket science, but from a development standpoint. It'S pretty easy. You need to know javascript, you need to know solidity. You need to know a few dev tools how to do testing, maybe with traffic, with hard hat, how to deploy with truffle and so on, and there are a few more industry-specific tools here. I mean web3.js if you want to learn dabs but, and maybe some front-end frameworks you know javascript is for front-end development. So if you want to learn react you can learn react if you want to learn angular or view whatever it might be. You can do that and and use that, together with your other skills, but javascript is at the core of it. So if you've never developed before, i would recommend you to start with javascript, and there are many many tutorials with javascript. I can recommend our own over at the ivan tech academy. There we teach you from scratch, javascript and then into solidity and then into dab development and so on and, as i've said before, we've seen a lot of people go from working. As you know, in a restaurant or as some completely other career they've, never coded before and um we've seen them go from that learning, programming and actually land the job as a developer in the crypto space, and that's the best feeling in the world to see that To see someone take that step from being an entertainer or a server or coffee maker, whatever it is to being an actual developer. So i would recommend you to learn these things and in this order first start with javascript uh, learn how to build simple websites and then go into solidity, learn to build some smart contracts and then to combine the two into actually building dapps. And then the question is okay, so, as a developer, specifically, how do you get a job uh in crypto? Well, the process is sort of the same right. You still have to be close to the people that are making the decisions right close to the projects that can hire you. If you're an entrepreneur, if you're an entrepreneur-minded person, then you can of course start your own projects. There are plenty of opportunity for businesses to start in this space and to have some developer. Skills is very valuable, but generally what we recommend, since most projects will be looking for some sort of experience when they hire you. You need to have a pretty good and pretty solid profile, a portfolio of projects that you've built. So you will need to do some projects on your own, where you build out ideas that you might have, or if you don't have any ideas, then you can just make clones of projects show that you can actually build something real. Even though it's not a unique idea, i mean, if they hire you they're, not hiring you necessarily to be the best businessman or be the best entrepreneur. They just want to see that you know your stuff, that you know how to code that you know how to build apps, so maybe copy some of the famous dapps out there maybe build some twists to them. You know it doesn't really matter what you build as much as build something, so i would recommend you to to do that and and build out a solid github portfolio that you can use to showcase that also here i mean write blog articles about coding, maybe tweet About coding or make youtube videos about coding and participate in hackathons, for example, we're having one right now, if you're viewing this, when it's published on morales.org a huge hackathon, where you cannot only get a team to build with, you can get some experience from other people. You can also get your project funded and get it kick-started. So that's a good idea too seek out people in this industry that maybe are better than you try to learn from them. Try to befriend them get close to those people show what you know: showcase your skills, skills market yourself in that way, where you provide value to these communities and then i'm sure you will have a very solid way into this industry. So that was it for this short video. I hope that helped you a little bit and if you need more resources on how to get started in crypto uh as a career, to learn the skills you need in order to learn blockchain in order to learn crypto, because it's all about learning the basics right. How does the blockchain work, what is in utxo uh? What is an actual consensus algorithm? How does that work? How is bitcoin different from ethereum how's ethereum different from eos, to learn some of these basics um in order to work in this industry uh and also to learn, you know the arguments. Why is bitcoin so unique? What makes bitcoin so unique? Why is it so popular? You need to know the the jargon so to speak before you get into this industry and that's where you can learn from just being in the community watching youtube videos taking courses whatever it might be. You need to get your foot into the door in that sense. Okay, i want to thank you for watching this video and i truly hope that you take the opportunity now to actually start with something start moving towards a career in crypto.
